10 Benefits of a Treadmill By Beth Campbell Platinum Quality Author

The treadmill has long been used by many fitness professionals as well as by numerous individuals in their homes or in hotels. Many appreciate the many benefits treadmills have to offer as there are several. Let’s look at 10 ways in which the treadmill can be beneficial for your health.

1. The treadmill has a padded surface that is easy on the joints so as not to cause unnecessary strain on the body. This makes the treadmill a good piece of exercise equipment for those who are aging.

2. Treadmills have a visual display which will allow you to see all of your results right there in front of your face. What you will see are things such as how many calories you’ve lost, what speed you are walking or running, your heart rate, your mileage, etc. Seeing all of this data can serve as a motivation as you will see that your work is really paying off!

3. You won’t have to worry about tripping or falling over pebbles or having your ankle twisted because your foot got caught in a whole when you run on a treadmill. As these are the things you’d have to deal with and worry about when running or jogging outdoors, the treadmill keeps you free from such worries.

4. You can set the speed at which you’ll exercise so as to optimize the amount of energy your body puts out. This will help you avoid unnecessary strain.

5. Treadmills, depending on which kind you have, can enable you to face the TV and watch a favorite show or movie while working out. This will help the time fly by faster making your workout more enjoyable as you won’t be paying too much attention to what you are doing hoping the time will hurry up and fly by. Just think of it. You could never do this outdoors. Some treadmills, today, even contain a small built in flat screen TV.

6. Treadmills are a healthy way to work out as you can adjust the settings to what is comfortable for you.

7. Should you want your workout to be a bit more difficult forcing you to work harder; you can adjust the incline simulating a hill outdoors.

8. Working out on a treadmill allows you to keep an eye on what’s going on in your home such as with your children. Rather than putting them in a day care center at the local gym, you can work out in the comfort of your own home keeping an eye on those precious to you.

9. Rather than partaking in fad diets, working out on the treadmill allows you to lose weight at a rate that is safe and healthy for your body. This is the very reason many fitness instructors as well as doctors continue to recommend this method of exercise.

10. Treadmills are relatively affordable, and almost anyone can own one.

Walking For Exercise By Corrine Michaels

Walking is a great form of exercise. It is low impact and can be done by most anyone. Walking for exercise is a fabulous choice but have you ever wondered if you were walking enough? This is a great question to consider.

Before this question can be answered you have to figure out what your ultimate goal is in walking. Here are some possible answers:

You may be walking for your heart. Walking is one of the best exercise for your heart and can keep other diseases at bay.

You may be walking for exercise. Walking just for exercise will help you stay physically active. Our muscles need regular exercise in order to stay healthy.

Weight loss could be your goal in walking regularly. What a great choice. With walking being a low-impact activity it is an exercise choice that will benefit people that have health issues that make it hard to participate in other physical activities like aerobics or cycling.

Are you walking as a pain management system? This is something that I do. I have fibromyalgia and I need to get my muscles moving or they will stiffen up and cause me extra pain. Walking is great for arthritis and for back pain as well.

Back to the original question, "Am I walking enough?" If you are walking for your heart, pain or even just for exercise, just focus on walking 20-30 minutes, 3-5 days a week.

For someone who is trying to lose weight you should be walking more. The answer depends on how fast you want to lose weight and if you have other issues to deal with, such as arthritis and other pain. If you are trying to lose weight the best thing to do is walking anywhere from one hour to two hours. In addition to walking add a strength training program that will help you have more stamina and burn more fat.

No matter how long you walk the key here is to get out and walk!

Breast Exercises For Women - Three Simple Exercises to Tone and Push Up Your Breasts! By Brenda Bigsby Platinum Quality Author

Full breasts have always garnered admiration for women who have them. That is a fact that cannot be denied no matter how seemingly superficial the reasons are. As a result, women feel it necessary to increase their breast size and go for surgery to make their breasts bigger, an effective method that comes with health risks.

Fortunately, there are several natural alternatives, such as these easy to follow exercises to enhance your breasts.

• Push-ups - these are very easy exercises to do, and can be modified to your body's physical fitness level. Lie on the floor facing the ground with your arms bent at the elbows near your chest, and palms flat against the floor. Keeping your back and your legs straight, slowly push yourself up and away from the floor. Repeat for about 10x at least per day and gradually increase repetition as you grow stronger. For beginners, you can do push ups with your knees bent.

• Back extension and strengthening - poor posture can also make breasts seem smaller than they really are, so this exercise is to help strengthen your back and keep you from slouching again. Lie face down, legs straight, and your arms over your head. Lift an arm and the opposing leg as far up as you can without bending the elbows and knees or lifting your head. Hold for about 10 seconds or for as long as you can. Repeat this for the other side.

• Bench press some weights - but always make sure that someone will be there to "spot" you or assist you in case you have trouble pushing the weights back up into the bars. This exercise will also help firm up the arms and the rest of your upper body.
